A poster presenting the development of VULCAN: an open-source, 1D chemical kinetics code suited
for the temperature and pressure range relevant to the observable exoplanetary atmospheres. The chemical network is based on a set of reduced rate coefficients including C/H/O mechanism. Several benchmarking and test runs on T-P profiles are shown.
The poster will be on display at the Extreme Solar Systems III conference in Hawaii, 29 Nov. – 4 Dec. 2015.

A poster explaining the first version of HELIOS-R, our retrieval code for atmosphere charaterisation. We focus on emission spectra and coupled our forward model with a nested sampling algorithm. A new poster for HELIOS is available. Therein we describe the radiative transfer model, the key features of the numerical code and preliminary results. We show a few numerical tests and a comparison to current data for the exoplanets HD189733b and Wasp-43b. The poster will be on display at the Extreme Solar Systems III conference in Hawaii, 29 Nov. – 4 Dec. 2015.

These Keynote/PDF slides were used at the CHEOPS workshop in Madrid (2015) to explain the findings in the Heng et al. (2015) work, which presented a non-isothermal theory for interpreting sodium-doublet observations in exoplanetary atmospheres. They should serve as a pedagogical aid towards better understanding the paper.
